Wow! I had no idea you were a serious tea fan! We use the same brewing technique, and bought a small set from an excellent shop in Saratoga, along with a delicious range of oolong teas, which we are still working our way through, tasting and rating them. We should get together for a tasting session some time!

Yeah, the second team figured out how to activate the gate with little combat (the gate held an ogre this time, which was mince-meat in tight quarters. Making friends with the guard led them right to the gate. I'd say they got there in 3 hrs of their 5 hr session.)

So did anyone figure out how to make it out of the 'house of slime'? I suspect the two hour session cut things a bit close time wise...

I was really excited to read your post because I used to live with Gene. He was such an interesting guy... a humble cynic. He honestly didn't think his work was anything to write home about. And now his pieces are selling for about $3000 a pop.

Yup, perhaps it's all a matter of expectations and meeting those expectations...I'm hopeful the staff are open to addressing issues and don't see my comments (and comments of others who share many of my concerns) as simply noisy whiners.

Looking forward to Polycon this summer! (And Conquest.)

It warms my heart to see PolyCon compared favorably to something as "institutional" as DunDraCon, and even praised for doing things better.

My DunDraCon experience was more positive, but I had much lower expectations, I suppose. I wanted to attend a few seminars, and find cool lootz in the dealers room. I wasn't really interested in playing any games this year (just felt too weary thanks to work and life stuff). I did indeed attend some good seminars (namely anything with Ken Hite in it), and boy did I find some cool lootz. So I count the con as a good experience. Sorry to hear it wasn't to your liking.

Not a bad idea at all. Perhaps suggest it to your local city council members?
